The practical driving test lasts for around 40 minutes.
Obviously this is a driving exercise, where you must follow the directions your examiner gives you. You must show that you
can follow the laws of the road, competently and safely dealing with other road users along the journey. Recently added to
the test is a 10 minute 'independant drive', where you may be asked to follow road signs or a series of directions or both.
Whilst out on your test you will also perform a manouver. Also 1 in 3 tests are asked to perform an emergency stop(don't
worry---your examiner will stop you first and explain that they want you to do one shortly after moving off again--------they
wont just randomly shout out "STOP!!!!!!" so dont worry!) Your examiner will be holding a test marking sheet. On this sheet
there are numerous boxes covering all types of possible driving faults. They are marked as--'MINOR----SERIOUS----
DANGEROUS'.You are allowed to recieve up to 15 minor driving faults in total, but if you recieve 4 minors for the same fault,
then this becomes a 'serious' fault. 1 single 'SERIOUS' or 'DANGEROUS' fault is an automatic fail.
